Kent Jones is an American artist who arrived in Newfoundland and Labrador in July of 1989 when he was hired to establish the printmaking program at Memorial University. He has exhibited his paintings, prints, drawings, and videos in exhibitions worldwide since 1971. Jones is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, and in September 2015, he was given the Long Haul Award by Visual Arts Newfoundland and Labrador for lifetime service and achievement in the arts. His artwork is included in over one hundred public, corporate, and educational collections worldwide.
